InMobi Hack Day, InMobi’s flagship event is back this Spring from Feb 20-21, 2016. This time, the broad themes are Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud (SMAC). Taking a clue from the success of our previous summer hack day, we also have bonus tracks for DevOps, IoT and Security hacks.
24 hours to bring your idea into life and celebrate your expression of creativity, this is what the event all about. So gear up all you developers, designers and engineers; come and code to build something amazing.
The hackathon will kick off at 02.00 PM on Saturday 20th Feb 2016 and will run through the evening of 21st Feb 2016.

- Participation is open to all.
- One person can participate in only one team/hack.
- Team size should be minimum 2 and maximum 4.
- Please register your team on the link provided. All teams are to be shortlisted based on the credentials filled by the participants. Only shortlisted teams will be invited to hack at the InMobi premises.
- Registrations are open till 14th Feb, 2016.
- Shortlisted teams will hear from us by 15th Feb, 2016.
- Every hack should be demo-able. PowerPoint presentations will not be accepted.
- Each team will get 3 minutes to present their hack before our rockstar panel of judges.
- All hacks will be judged on the following criterion
- Completeness of the hack
- Novelty of the idea
- The impact it can create
- Availability of hack as open source
Code of Conduct:
Kartik works with InMobi as an Engineering Manager for InfoSec with a focus on all things security. He spends most of his time evangelizing security, reviewing systems for vulnerabilities & building security solutions. Being keenly interested in network security monitoring, incident response and tinkering, you will often find him automating stuff.
Vaidhy loves technology, gadgets and building scalable software. His primary interests are in distributed systems and machine learning.
Ahimanikya is the Founder & CEO of DocEngange, a healthcare apps platform for clinic chains, hospitals and home health care providers. He has 20 years of experience in building software products for enterprise companies like Sun Microsystems, Verticalnet etc. He has been passionately involved in creating startup communities and a fellow and product circle member of iSPIRT foundation.
Gabriel has over a decade of experience solving problems with software, design, and data. He's helped organizations including Docker, Google, and numerous startups that he has worked/consulted for, advised or invested in both his native Toronto, Canada, and in San Francisco.
Gabriel has delivered dozens of presentations at technical conferences, has guest-lectured at UC Berkeley's School of Information, and for the past eight years has sat on the Python conference technical program review committee. He has attended several hackathons before, as a prize-winning participant, an organizer and a judge.
Sivakumar has been working with InMobi as an Engineering Manager for DevOps with primary focus on Data Management using RDBMS and Hadoop. He also spent a majority of his time working with PostgreSQL community and have also contributed patches. He is also passionate about cloud technologies and also an advocate of AWS with InMobi. In his spare time, he enjoys reading about latest advancements in technologies.
Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan has 25+ years of international experience in the software product and services space. He has worked at HP, Informix, and was part of the executive leadership team at HCL, the world wide CTO at Cognizant and the COO at Persistent. He had also successfully founded his own start up, Pretzel Logic Software Inc., which was subsumed into BEA, now Oracle. He is also a visiting faculty of computer science at IIT Bhubaneswar and has taught at several US universities. He also serves on national committees on technical education, an initiative of MHRD, India.
Currently he is a Venture Partner with Helion Advisors, an India focused fund to help technology focused start-ups looking to go global from India. He holds a B Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a MS/PhD in Computer and Information Sciences from University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. He has several publications and is the holder of patents, jointly with HP and BEA.
Inder is two-time Techcrunch Disrupt hackathon winner as a member of @SerialHackers . He has spent over a decade at InMobi, Yahoo, Oracle, Microsoft and Intel building mainstream products from grounds up. He is a fitness enthusiast and is extremely passionate about applying technology to solve real life problems.
Sanket Atal is Group Vice President at Oracle Corporation. He is responsible for the R&D organization in Bangalore, NCR, Pune and St. Petersburg, Russia. Sanket’s background is in Systems Engineering and has managed large organizations. He started his career in August of 1991 at Sequent Computer Systems on a joint project with Informix Corp. In December of 1993, he joined Informix Corp. His tenure at Oracle began in January of 1996 as a founding member of the Research and Development center in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Oracle India in August of 2006. In June of 2010, he left Oracle to head the India Technology Center for CA Technologies in Hyderabad. In June of 2012, Sanket become the Chief Technology office of MakeMyTrip.com, India’s largest Online Travel Agency and one of the largest E-Commerce companies. In October of 2015, Sanket re-joined Oracle and is based out of Bangalore. Sanket holds an MBA from University of Oregon, an MS in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin, Madison. His undergraduate studies were at Cornell University where he studied Computer Science and Mathematics. Sanket holds 2 patents.
Rahul is the co-founder of Swiggy, a food ordering and delivery company based out of Bangalore. He is full-stack enthusiast, excited about problem-saving and writing/cracking new APIs. He is an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and has worked with Myntra and NetApps before co-founding Swiggy.
1. Do all my team members need to be present at the event.
2. Can I make changes to my team after registration?
Yes, just drop a mail to email@example.com with your registration details.
3. Can I register on the spot?
No, only shortlisted teams will be invited to hack at the InMobi premises. They will receive invitations in advance.
4. Is it mandatory to register ideas upfront ?
No, not necessarily. But we highly encourage you to do so. It will help us in short listing the submissions.
5. What if we don’t submit the idea during registration?
We will shortlist based on your GitHub, LinkedIn profile and other credentials.
